Life Update

I haven't been posting as much as I would like to, but I have been super busy. Some crazy events unfolded in my life which sucks, but there is some great news. I have quit my job at an MSP and I will get to start my new role on July 7th as a Network Operations Manager. I am so excited to finally be able to work in an enterprise environment and use my skills I have worked hard to achieve. I am sure there will be a bit of a learning curve, but I am confident I can succeed. I've been wanting a new role for a while as I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere before in terms of career progression and learning.

I also finally have passed CCNP ENSLD! It took me 3 total attempts, failing the first two. I think the best advice I have for that exam is to read the white pages on the topics. Once I did that on my third attempt I was able to pass. For study materials, I used flashcards, Pearson practice exams, CBT Nuggets, the OCG book, and the white pages. I don't think the exam was too difficult, although this took me more attempts than ENCOR did. It took me around 6 months to pass this certification and I am very excited to move onto the next certification I want.

My next plan from here is to get into automation. I am going to start studying for the Cisco DevNet Associate Exam which will soon be CCNA Automation. This is a weak point for me and I have been wanting to learn about this for so long and just be able to focus on it. Now I am at a point in my career where I think I am ready. For what is to come with the blog, I plan on making a ton of posts about the topics starting around a week after this is posted.
